The Oconomowoc Area Baseball Club (OABC) is proud to announce the launch of the Five O's Scholarship Program, aimed at recognizing the outstanding achievements of former players who have demonstrated exceptional dedication both on and off the field.
At OABC, we believe in cultivating strong athletes and nurturing the development of our boys and girls into resilient young men and women better prepared for the challenges of high school and beyond. Our Five O's baseball and fastpitch programs teach our athletes the values of mental toughness, resilience, and perseverance while understanding the importance of community and teamwork.
Purpose:
In recognition of the efforts and commitment shown by our former players over the years, the OABC is delighted to offer scholarship opportunities to the most outstanding individuals as they approach the end of their senior year in high school. This year, two former players will have the chance to earn one of two $1050 scholarships as they prepare for college.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the Five O's Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Reside within the Oconomowoc Area School District.
Be a former Five O's player with at least five years of participation in the program from U7 through U14.
Maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher.
Have been accepted to an accredited educational institution for a degree or trade program.
Application Process:
Interested candidates must submit the following materials by May 15th, 2024:
A one-page, double-spaced essay detailing the applicant's experiences and lessons learned while playing for the Five O's, volunteer or community experiences, and their plans for the future submitted at
Selection Process:
The Executive Board of Directors will convene in May following the application deadline to review all submissions and select the two deserving former baseball and fastpitch players for the $1050 scholarship awards, respectively.
Notifications:
Recipients of the awards will be notified no later than June. They will be formally recognized and presented with their earned scholarships during the June or July Board of Directors meetings.
